Akshaya Trutiya is the combination of two words Akshaya and Trutiya. Akshaya means imperishable and never diminishes. Trutiya means the third day of the waxing moon in the lunar calendar. This day is traditionally associated with an auspicious beginning.
America Saraswata Pathachakra became America Saraswata Sangha in September 2003, and the first session of the Sangha was held on January 7, 2004. Pousa Purnima is celebrated as the Annual Day of America Saraswata Sangha.
